That would be me.
Who am I?
I never know how to answer this question. (I AM Series ongoing, albeit very slowly lol…)
How do I sum up the entirety of my being into a few sentences?
The best I can do is give a few glimpses.
I grew up in a Christian home. But I had to find my own faith and learn how to work out my salvation. (A snippet of that story here.) I’ve come to discover that it’s a daily journey not a one-off event.
Mr. Kamau is a pastor (among many other wondrous things). That makes me a pastor’s wife
currently formerly working full time as a writer in the wacky world of advertising. Now, I’m overseeing the operation of our family’s venture – Kairos Consultancy – a faith based resource platform for believers in the marketplace. Yes, this is as crazy and adventurous as it sounds. And proof that God has a sense of humour and Christianity is anything but boring.
Passionate about the prophetic and called to the office of a prophet. Something I’ve had a love-hate relationship with in the past. You only need to peek into the life of any prophet in the Bible to get why. That age-old drama has its present day variations. Not to mention, the prophetic is one of the most misunderstood and misused gifts in the Body of Christ. That said, I’m pretty excited about about all the changes and proper structures the Lord is instituting. And I’m finally starting to feel at home in my prophetic expression.
Writing used to be my first love. Then God happened to me. (The Encounter) Now it’s a gift whose expression is firmly centered on Jesus. If He’s not in it, I don’t want none of it. And wouldn’t you know, I’ve never been happier or more at peace as a creative.
I love getting lost in a good story. Probably one of the reasons why God and I get along so well. He’s the greatest Story Creator I know. One of these fine days I’ll publish some grand fiction stories we’ve dreamed up. For now, I’m digging in my heels to write them.
My spiritual home is INFEMI (Infinite Fellowship Ministries) where I serve on the Board. Apostolic & prophetic ministry. Called to be a watchtower. A beautiful contradiction of so many stereotypes about young people. We seek God hard. And we find Him.
I stopped believing in waiting to get to heaven to enjoy God’s wondrous presence and gifts. Salvation is a cheque we get to cash in immediately. So I chase after the goodness of God daily in the land of the living. And I never cease to be amazed by how He delights in me and wraps me in His goodness again and again.
This is the hope that gets me out of bed every morning and keeps me going through my days: God is nowhere near done with humanity. He’s only just began.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
– Psalm 23:6 ESV
Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I’m back home in the house of God for the rest of my life.
